Starring Sean Gullette, Mark Margolis, et al. Released to DVD on January 12, 1999.

With a fast, underground techno sound, an experimental shooting style and an inventive and unusual plot line, Pi seems as if it has given rise to a new genre of independent films. Sean Gullette stars as Max Cohen, a virtual recluse who has a brilliant mathematical mind. Max's life takes a turn for the surreal when he discovers a formula on his computer that will predict the rise and the fall of the stock market. Suddenly investment firms are threatening him with bodily harm and Max begins to realize that being able to predict the trends of Wall Street is only the tip of the iceberg to the other things this formula will show him. Gullette's whacked out performance is solid, but writer/director Darren Arnofsky is the man responisble for the creation of the clever mayhem here at hand. Made for a reported $20,000, Pi is a genuine find.
