Based off of Peter Farrelly's (There's Something About Mary) book of the same nameóa book that was based loosely off of Farrelly's own lifeóOutside Providence follows a year in the life of Timothy "Dildo" Dunphy (Shawn Hatosy). After Dildo and his friends crash into a parked police car in the midst of a marijuana induced haze, Dildo is sent to Cornhall Academy, a very conservative prep school where fun, of any kind, is against the charter. So, as is often the case when students come up against a strict dean or school principal, Dildo and his Cornhall pals ignore the rules, smoke massive amounts of dope and have fun. The coming-of-age tale has been seen in many screen teens and films before, but that can't camouflage the sweetness and heart felt in Outside Providence.
