Mission to Mars may very well be the scariest movie ever made. The reason for this distinction doesn't have anything to do with the film's plot, a lame 2001 rip-off involving a rescue mission to Mars, of all places, but rather with the fact that this film had a $100 million budget and Hollywood's top talents attached to the project at every possible angle (including Tim Robbins, Gary Sinise and Don Cheadle in the cast, Brian DePalma behind the camera, Graham Yost among others on the script, Stephen Burum on the cinematography and ILM on the f/x) yet the end result was one of the worst movies of the year. If a lot of time, money and proven talent can't generate a film better than this, the cinema juggernaut is in trouble.
